Queen of the Earth Sauvignon Blanc
Wine
Flowstone Queen of the Earth Sauvignon Blanc is grown on a single vineyard in Karridale, one of the coolest and most southern areas of Margaret River.
The vineyard, planted in the late 1990s, is dry grown and tended entirely by hand. After the fruit is handpicked, it is stored in a cool room to chill.
The next day, the grapes are pressed whole to ensure their juice retains subtlety and texture. After settling overnight, the cloudy juice is transferred to large format, seasoned oak barrels for fermentation.
The wine is aged for one year with occasional lees stirring, then blended and minimally fined and filtered. Once bottled, it rests for a further 18 months before release.
Pale straw, Flowstone Queen of the Earth Sauvignon Blanc deftly balances fruit flavour, complexity, texture and length. Cellaring potential is six years.
